Striding past the apartments on Krasinskiego Street the incredible architecture of this historical area draws you into a world that has faded into history.

Carefully carved plaster vineyards crawl up one facade and a tree-trunk stands proudly displaying its forever spring leaves.  The hand carved caricatures of people and forest animals peer down from these buildings at pedestrians strolling down the sidewalk along Roosevelta Avenue. Wrought-iron dragon-flies, spiders and other insects enfold the balconies.  The architectural efforts of the early 20th century were a stark contrast to the events that took place only 30 years later. Echos of machine-gun fire left pock-marked wounds in the exterior walls that remain there to this day, much the same way that war left its wounds on the people of Poland.

However, there is a quiet revolution taking place. The Sweet Surrender Coffee House is trying to turn back the clock and restore the sweet sounds of music and inspiration of art to this beautiful quarter of Poznan. In this lovely, historically preserved building there will be musical events; vocal and instrumental.  Enjoy the art exhibits; painting, sculpture and more. Our menu will include soups, salads desserts and coffee...GREAT COFFEE!

We believe that if taken in liberal doses, regular visits here will result in a greater peace of mind and optimistic outlook on the rest of your days.

This was the inspiration behind the marquee of the business and the prayer of those who work here.
